The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating a fatal armed robbery that occurred around 4 p.m. on July 27, 2012. The suspect in this case remains at-large and should be considered dangerous.
A 52-year-old Herndon man, Tommy K. Wong, was found with a fatal injury inside his store, Capital Jewelers, in the 3200 block of Columbia Pike just prior to midnight on July 27, 2012. The discovery came after the man’s family notified police that he had not returned home from his shift at the store.
Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the store and police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 50’s, approximately 5’7” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a neon-colored traffic vest at the time of the incident.
