10810 Fairchester Dr / Seven Eleven – On July 11 at 6:39 AM the complainant advised a male subject had just stolen a bottle of alcohol from the store. Richard Hurdle, 59, No fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with felony larceny due to his prior criminal history and possession of alcohol by interdicted person.

Jermantown Rd / Fairfax Blvd – On July 11 at 1:50 AM an officer on patrol observed a vehicle driving recklessly in circles. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, but the driver of the vehicle would not pull over. After a vehicle pursuit, the driver finally stopped at the dead end of a neighborhood street. Rashad Mohammed Altweijri, 18, of 11105 Cavalier Ct, Fairfax was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with felony eluding police, reckless driving and driving without a license. Altweijri was held on $5000 secured bond. | |

The officer ordered the male driver of the vehicle to pull over at which point, the vehicle did briefly, and then sped away. The vehicle then returned to the scene and the driver was now a female and the male was a passenger. - 11200 Fairfax Blvd / Giant Foods – On June 18 at 10:40 AM the manager advised he observed a subject conceal multiple items and attempt to exit the store without payment. Deidra Yvette Gaskins, 46, of 8318 Tobin Rd, Annandale, was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with one count of concealment of merchandise. Gaskins is being held on $2500 bond.

- 10000 Block of Stratford Ave – On June 18 at 12:22 PM the complainant advised that she was at her residence when an unknown male scared her and she left the residence. The complainant advised she watched her home from a distance away and observed the subject exit her house and get into a Ford pickup truck and drive away. The Criminal Investigations and Patrol Division’s are investigating this case.

- 10925 Fairfax Blvd / Fairfax Hyundai – On June 19 at 10:12 AM the victim reported that on June 15, they dropped off their 2012 blue Hyundai Elantra to have work performed. On June 19 they returned to pick up the vehicle at which time the vehicle was no longer on the property. The vehicle was then reported stolen.

- 4100 Block of Lamarre Dr – On June 19 at 4:07 PM the complainant reported that he let a male that he did not know very well, stay overnight at his house between June 12 and June 18. During that time, the victim stated that the subject had taken medicine belonging to him.

- 9400 Block of Fairfax Blvd – On June 19 at 7:45 PM the victim advised that she had been out of town for the weekend and when she returned home, she noticed that two blank checks were missing. One of the checks were written and cashed at a bank. The Patrol Division is investigating this case.

- 3730 Old Lee Hwy / Police Headquarters – On June 10, the complainant reported that a credit card had been opened under the business name and had been used to make numerous unauthorized purchases. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, Jennifer Lynn Coody, 30, of 2490 Glengyle Dr, Vienna, was charged with two counts of felony embezzlement and ordered held on $2000 secure bond.

- 9622 Main St / Shoppers Food Warehouse – On June 16 at 7:44 PM, the manager reported that he had been advised of an employee who was seen taking items from the store and putting them into his car throughout the day. The manager confronted the employee, who then got into the car in an attempt to leave. As the vehicle was leaving, the manager opened the driver’s door at which point the door cut the manager and the driver left the area. The Patrol Division is investigating.

- 10334 Fairfax Blvd / Hooters Restaurant – On June 17 at 9:04 PM, the complainant said that on the evening of June 9, he allowed an unknown man and woman to use his 2000 BMW 740iL as long as they would return it the following day. The victim further reported that the vehicle was never returned and that several personal items were in the vehicle as well. The Patrol Division is investigating.

- 9900 Block of Fairfax Square – On June 13 at 3:00 AM, a man said he woke up to find that the keys to his 2004 Ford Explorer to be gone along with his roommate. The man said he did not give the roommate permission to use his vehicle. On June 16, California Highway Patrol stopped the stolen Ford Explorer and arrested the driver, Kimberly Johnson 39, of 9904 Fairfax Square, Fairfax.

- 9650 Main St / A.C. Moore – On June 15 at 12:07 PM, the manager reported that he saw two unknown men subjects inside the store — possibly concealing merchandise. The manger located in the men’s backpacks numerous items that they were attempting to conceal. The suspects then exited the store and left the area on a silver colored moped.

- 10610 Canfield Dr / Canfield Swimming Pool – On June 11 at 1:20 PM, a lifeguard reported that an unknown man came to the pool claiming to be from the health department, assaulted the lifeguard and left the area. The suspect is described as a white man, 40-to-50 years of age and wearing square framed glasses. The victim did not require medical attention.

Credit Card Theft Arrest

- 3910 University Dr / Seven Eleven – On June 5 at 3:00 PM, a store employee advised that a man was paying for numerous items with a credit card and, when asked for identification, left the store. Officers located the suspect in the area at which point he admitted the credit card was stolen and that he used it at three different City of Fairfax businesses. Officers recovered a total of five stolen credit cards and a search his backpack revealed a handgun. The suspect admitted to taking the credit cards from locations within Fairfax County. Edward Leon Campbell Jr., 19, of 11981 Barrel Copper Ct, Reston, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with three counts of stolen credit card, one count of carrying a concealed a weapon and one count of credit card fraud. He was ordered held without bond.

- 10312 Willard Way / Buffalo Wing University – On June 8 at 12:37 AM, a woman reported leaving her iPhone on her desk and stepping away for a few moments. When she returned, the phone was gone. A suspect was located at the business and the iPhone was returned. Ahmed Moharam, 22, of 11328 Westbrook Mill Lane, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with grand larceny and ordered held on $10,000 bond.

- 4080 Jermantown Road / Kmart – On June 8 at 9:18 PM a store employee reported that two unknown men walked out of the store with a cart full of merchandise when the security tag sensor alarm sounded. The employee confronted the suspects who pushed the cart back to the store and fled on foot. All merchandise was recovered. The Patrol Division is investigating.

Upon investigation, the suspect was located and found to be consuming the beers he had taken. The officer responded to the Magistrates Office, obtained a warrant and is waiting to be served.

- 9640 Main St / Marshalls – On June 5 at 10:48 AM, an employee reported that a woman allegedly concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Manar Zaid, 41, of 4038 Timber Oak Trail, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with petit larceny and being held on a $1000 secured bond.

- 3915 Old Lee Hwy / McDonalds – On June 4 at 10:47 AM, a man reported he was assaulted by an unknown mane who then fled in a vehicle. The victim could not provide license plate information on the suspect vehicle. The case is being investigated by the Patrol Division.

- 10485 Fairfax Blvd / (Exxon South) – On June 4 at 11:44 AM, the manager reported a man who was inside the business stole a beer and drinking it. Officers made contact with man, who said he did not have money for the beer. Justin Elliot, 31, of 3000 Seven Oaks Place, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with felony larceny due to his prior larceny convictions, and drunk in public. Elliot was ordered held on a $5000 secured bond.

- 10306 Eaton Place #500 / Tetra Tech – On June 4 at 1:41 PM, a woman reported her wallet was stolen from her desk between 9:15 AM and 11:00 on the above date. The thief used the victim’s credit cards to make unauthorized purchases at three local businesses. The Patrol Division is investigating.

Brandon Russell 34, of 10805 Harvey Dr, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with 3rd offense petit larceny — a felony offense. Russell was ordered held on a $2500 unsecured bond.

- University Dr / North St – On June 3 at 1:51 AM an officer on patrol saw someone pulling flowers from flower pots on City of Fairfax property. The officer also indicated the individual showed signs of being intoxicated. Robert Meyer III, 26, of 636 Walker Rd, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with destruction of city property and drunk in public.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest

- 9687 Fairfax Blvd / Fast Eddies – On May 31 at 12:49 AM, an officer on patrol saw his in-car license plate reader indicating a stolen vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle left the lot and the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver allegedly refused to stop and eventually crashed the stolen vehicle into another vehicle. A passenger and the driver fled on foot. The driver, Darius Ridley, 22, of 4385 Benning Rd, Washington, DC, was apprehended and charged with grand larceny, receiving stolen property, driving without a driver’s license, eluding police and hit and run. He was ordered held on $3000 secured bond. The passenger was also apprehended and found to be allegedly illegally concealing a handgun. Demetrius Stewart, 27, of 9611 Linden Brooke St, Fairfax, was issued a summons for carrying a concealed weapon.

The suspect(s) stole a water fountain and damaged a water pipe which resulted in flooding of the first and second floors of the building.

- 10200 Stratford Ave – On May 26 at 10:19 AM, a victim reported receiving a call that her grandson had been arrested and that she needed to send money to bail him out of jail. The victim sent two separate money orders to an address in Lima, Peru. After contact with the grandson, it was determined that he was not the person requesting the money and that the money was obtained fraudulently.

- 3900 Block of Bradwater St – On May 27 at 3:48 AM, officers responded to the area for a possible burglary in progress. The victim reported an unknown person in his home and when confronted, the suspect fled the house. After further investigation, officers located Kevin Playuk, 19, of 3986 Bradwater St, Fairfax who was positively identified by the victim. Playuk was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with unlawful entry and drunk in public and was held on a $2000 secured bond.

- 10360 North St / Fairfax County Library – On May 27 at 2:03 PM, a witness reported that an individual kicked a marble cigarette ash tray holder that belonged to the library. The strike knocked the tray holder to the ground breaking it at which point the suspect then picked up the tray and fled on foot. Officers located the suspect, Juan Calderon, 47 of unknown address and transported him to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with destruction of property and petit larceny. Calderon was held on $4000 secured bond.

- Fairfax Blvd / Chain Bridge Rd – On May 27 at 11:02 PM, an officer was attempting to stop a suspect vehicle involved in a Hit and Run. The suspect driver disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and continued westbound on Fairfax Blvd. The driver finally stopped for the officer, at which time the officer observed indicators that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody. Officers also located suspected marijuana inside the suspect vehicle. Dimitrios Daskalakis, 18, of 5203 Stonington Dr, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with driving while intoxicated, felony eluding police, felony hit and run and possession of marijuana. Daskalakis’ bond was set at $2500.

- 10530 Fairfax Blvd / AutoLook – On May 24 at 10:10 AM, the owner of the dealership reported that sometime during the overnight hours unknown person(s) stole a 2004 Audi A8 sedan that was parked in the front of the dealership. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

- 9766 Fairfax Blvd / Cashstore – On May 24 at 2:00 PM, an officer on patrol saw his in-car license plate reader indicating a stolen vehicle that had just passed him. It was subsequently determined the 2012 Toyota Yaris was stolen from Alamo Rent-A-Car at Washington Dulles Airport. The driver, Ketsha Rena Thompson, 35, of undetermined address was charged with felony possession of stolen property. Her bond was set at $2000.

- 10312 Williard Way / Buffalo Wing University – On May 25 at 1:56 AM, the victim reported he had left his iPhone on the bar table and briefly stepped away from it. Upon his return his phone was gone. The Patrol Division is investigating.

- 10440 Main St / Bank of America parking lot – On May 25 at 2:04 AM, an officer was flagged down by people who were with an unconscious individual. According to witnesses, the individual hit his head on the ground during a fight and was knocked unconscious. There were no descriptions of suspects other than that the assailant was one person within a group of men. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

- Fairfax Boulevard / Chain Bridge Road – On May 12 at 12:04 AM, an officer on patrol attempted to stop a vehicle being operated erratically westbound on Fairfax Boulevard, The driver refused to stop and ran a red light at Chain Bridge Road, striking another vehicle in the intersection. The operator shortly thereafter turned into the eastbound lanes of Fairfax Boulevard and struck a traffic control box. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Concurrent investigation involving the Town of Vienna and Arlington County police departments revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Arlington County earlier in the evening. After being treated at the hospital, Christopher Hernandez-Rivera, 18, of 6053 Argyle Drive, Falls Church, was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with driving while intoxicated, felony speed to elude, felony hit and run and possession of stolen property, He was ordered held without bond. The driver of the vehicle struck by the suspect was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The suspect then left the area on foot with a woman. Both were located in the area by responding officers and taken into custody. Corey Paolicelli Robertson, 25, of 6108 Pond Lily Court, Burke, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with robbery and assault. He also was charged with petit larceny for taking the eyeglasses of one of the victims and with destruction of property for damaging a police cruiser while being transported. Bridget Beard, 21, of 5015 McFarland Drive, Fairfax, who was accompanying Robertson, was charged with drunk in public. The victim who had been struck refused medical treatment.

- 9622 Main Street / Shoppers Food Warehouse Parking Lot – On November 14, 2011, a 19-year-old City of Fairfax man reported that he had been assaulted in front of the store by a man who had pushed him to the ground and struck him in the head multiple times. When witnesses attempted to intervene, the suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was treated for his injuries at Inova Fairfax Hospital. As the result of investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division the suspect was identified and a warrant was obtained charging him felony malicious bodily injury. At 11:30 AM on April 24, the warrant was served on Jessie Urquidi, 20, of 9350 Fontainebleau Boulevard, Miami, Florida. After a witness attempted to intervene, the suspect retrieved a golf club from his car and struck the victim several times. The suspect then entered his vehicle and left the area. The victim declined transport to a medical facility. The suspect later met with an officer at the scene and was taken into custody. Juan Carlos Moya, 21, of 7103 Essex Avenue, Springfield, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with forging a public record, driving while revoked, providing false identification to avoid a summons, and speeding. Officers located Nicholas Thomas Gilliam, 57, of no fixed address, and transported him o the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with assault and battery, destruction of property and drunk in public. His bond was set at $1500. The victim was treated at the scene for a laceration.

As the result of investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, a suspect was identified. Warrants charging burglary and grand larceny were served on March 15 on Sean Patrick Lynn, 32, of 20008 Apperson Place, Germantown, Maryland, and he was returned to Fairfax from Montgomery County. The investigation also resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen property which was returned to the victims.

- 3800 block of Bevan Drive – On July 8, 2011 the victim reported that on July 7 two male subjects had approached her in a shopping center parking lot and said they could fix the damage on her vehicle. She agreed to have them follow her to her residence where they appeared to perform the work and collected a check for a large sum of money which they promptly cashed after leaving the victim. The subjects claimed to be working for a body shop in Falls Church. It was subsequently discovered that the pair had done only superficial painting of scratches and not the work on the frame for which they had been paid. As the result of an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division a felony warrant was obtained charging Bobby S. Fox, 23, of 607 Montgomery Street, Laurel, Maryland, with false pretense. Fox surrendered at the Adult Detention Center on March 9 and was released on personal recognizance.

Cutlip of 9920 Colony Road was transported to the Adult Detention Center where warrants were served charging him with misdemeanor credit card fraud, felony credit card theft and felony credit card fraud. Corey Kennedy, 42, of 1517 East 29th Street, Baltimore, Maryland, and Brandon Brown, 19, of 4112 Woodhaven Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, were transported to the Adult Detention Center where they were charged with grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools and ordered held without bond. During follow-up investigation stolen clothing was recovered from a vehicle in the shopping center parking lot, which the arrested subjects had used for transportation. A warrant for conspiring to steal merchandise valued at over $200 was subsequently obtained for the operator of that vehicle, Jacqueline Ross of Baltimore, Maryland. The warrant was served and the suspect was taken into custody by Baltimore City Police and was to be held pending extradition.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Righenzi had also stolen a bag tote from the Healthy Back Store and a second warrant was obtained charging him with petit larceny. When her financial institution said it would place a hold on the money order funds, the victim withdrew the amount from her own account and wired it as instructed. She later realized after talking to friends that she had been the victim of a scam.

Juvenile petitions charging concealment of merchandise and obstruction of justice were to be obtained for a 15 year old Burke youth, who initially had provided false identifying information to the arresting officer. The 15 year old subsequently was taken into custody by Fairfax County Police on multiple felony charges after it was determined that the vehicle he was in had been stolen and contained the proceeds of a burglary.

As a result of investigation by the Patrol Division, warrants were obtained charging Justin Marshall Wilson, 35, of no fixed address, with vehicle theft and burglary during daytime hours. On February 8 at 11:09 PM Prince William County Police pursued the stolen vehicle, which struck a Virginia State Police cruiser and crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 95 in Stafford County. Wilson was taken into custody and subsequently served with the warrants obtained by City of Fairfax Police.

The officer stopped following the vehicle at the City line, but it was located a short time later in the Clifton area by Fairfax County Police who took both the male driver and female vehicle owner into custody on suspicion of being drunk in public. Both were transported to the Adult Detention Center where Gordon Edward Brightly, Jr., 53, of 5837 Orchard Hill Lane, Clifton, was charged by City of Fairfax Police with felony speeding to elude, driving with revoked license and two traffic charges and by Fairfax County Police with drunk in public. The victim did so, but after making payment did not receive the promised upgrade and was unable to make contact with the man who had called.

On January 2 at 7:15 PM the victim, who was being treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital, contacted police and a witness who was with him confirmed that the victim had been struck in the head and face with a bottle by one of several men who fled in a vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital by an acquaintance and admitted. The suspect was described as a male in his early twenties, about six feet tall and weighing about 185 pounds with black or brown spiked hair. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

On December 19 the Charlottesville Police Department reported that it had served the warrant on Jeremy Brown, 30, of 1197 Desert Road, Reva, Virginia.

Zoelfakar Sayed Shaban Beshir, 21, of 3126 Blue Barn Way, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where a warrant was issued charging him with assault by mob and his bond was set at $1500. The victim refused medical treatment.

The mother became suspicious and contacted police before conducting any transaction.

On December 12 the victim received three additional money orders with similar instructions except that the 90 percent remainder was to be wired to a person in the Philippines. The victim subsequently found that her bank account was overdrawn since the money orders she had deposited to it had been determined to be fraudulent.

- 4029 Chain Bridge Road / Main Street Bank – On November 4 the checking account holder reported that she had been informed that on October 24 a man had attempted to cash a check on the account at the bank, but had left when told the check would have to be verified. The check subsequently was determined to be fraudulent. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, the man was identified as Brandon Joshua Dail, 25, of 2528 Red Maple Drive, Abingdon, Maryland, and on November 30 felony warrants were obtained charging him with forgery and uttering a forged check. It was determined that Dail is incarcerated in York, Pennsylvania, and a detainer has been placed on him.

On the basis of information obtained during the course of investigation, the suspect was located in the Oak Knolls Apartments complex at Main and Oak Streets. The victim’s purse was found in a dumpster in the complex. The suspect was found to have a concealed firearm in his vehicle. As the result of additional investigation, it was determined that the same suspect had committed another larceny at the Super H-Mart on November 13. Brian Leroy Smith, 41, of 10742 Main Street, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where warrants were issued charging him with two counts of grand larceny and possession of a concealed firearm and he was ordered held without bond.

When witnesses attempted to intervene, the suspect fled on foot toward Pickett Road. The suspect was described as possibly Hispanic, about six feet tall with long brown hair wearing a Washington Capitals jersey and carrying a case and a bottle of beer. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

When the victim declared he had no cash, the subject followed him into the parking lot, pushed him to the ground, rifled through his empty pockets and grabbed his cell phone from his hand before fleeing on foot. A search was conducted for the suspect, but he was not located. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

An employee made a cash withdrawal from her bank and followed the caller’s instructions to wire it in three equal portions to three individuals in Wisconsin Subsequent inquiries by the manager to the Sheriff’s Office and the employee revealed the employee had not been arrested and was at home. It was then learned that the three moneygrams had been promptly picked up by unknown person(s) upon their receipt in Wisconsin.

A pair of snips, which could be used to cut off store tags and packaging, was found in the suspect’s possession. Aymel Mohammed, 27, of 10411 Forest Avenue, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools and his bond was set at $4000.

During the follow-up investigation by an officer, the manager reported that as of 7:00 PM on November 5 the truck had not been returned and he had not been able to make contact with the subject. Subsequently, a magistrate issued a warrant for the subject charging him with unauthorized use of a vehicle. The truck was later returned to the business, but the suspect could not be located in the area. Warrant service was pending.

Kevin Mark Collinson, 49, of 2671 Centennial Court, Alexandria, was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where warrants were issued charging him with possession of stolen property and displaying a license plate issued to another vehicle.
