West Potomac Students To Participate In Fashion Event Benefit for Breast Cancer

For the second year, West Potomac Academy fashion design students will participate in the Pink Rocks the Runway™ fashion event in support of breast cancer awareness at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 21, at the International Trade Center in Washington.

Students will assist with production, hair, and make-up for the fashion show, work alongside designers, and personally assist headline designer Christian Siriano. In addition, they will style all models for the runway.

Fourteen breast cancer survivors and celebrity models representing local professional sports teams and news organizations are modeling for the event.

Pink Rocks the Runway™ is an annual breast cancer awareness fashion event that combines couture fashion and live rock music with an important early detection message. The event is supported by Pink Jams, which promotes breast cancer awareness to men and women under 40.

At the conclusion of the event, Pink Jams will provide a special grant to the Capital Breast Care Center, an organization that provides women in the Washington metropolitan area with mammograms and health screenings regardless of their ability to pay.
